Um.  Raised by Poodles?  Yes.  It’s a family reference.  As a sensitive and gullible child, one of my sisters loved to taunt me by telling me I was adopted.  It caused me no end of anxiety and trips to my mother for contradiction.  As an easily amused adult, my brother once sent me a letter telling me that our father, after tying one on, confessed the truth about the rumors of my adoption.  It seemed that I was an abandoned child, taken in by a band of wild poodles living in a public park near our home.  One day, while riding on my poodle mother’s back, my soft head hit a low-lying branch and I fell off her back.  Soon, I was discovered by my parents, and properly adopted by them.  Sometimes I really miss Fifi.

  1. Hi Terri

Oh that treasure chest is gorgeous! I wish I had the money for that too! Wow with gas prices I don’t know if it will happen but it sure would be nice! Beautiful! Debby 🙂

  2. Hi Terri, thank you so much for commenting on the felted fruit on my blog. You are correct, they came from the Blue Ridge parkway in North Carolina. I hope you and your family are having a wonderful time on your trip this summer. It sounds like it would be a wonderful adventure.

  3. Hi there! I’ve been admiring your work and I just love the ‘Betsy’ design from Sheepish Designs. I’ve been looking for this design and can’t find it anywhere! Please can you tell me where you got it. I would really appreciate it.

    P.S. Love your blog!

  4. I love your Primitive Irish Cupboard Sampler by the
Sampler Girl. I would love to stitch this. I went
to her site but did not find this among her freebies. Would you still have the link of it?
This would be perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.
    I would appreciate your help…
    Best wishes, Denise

    • Hi Denise,

Thank you. :o) You’ll have to email Tanya about the pattern. From what I understand, she only makes her freebies available for a limited time. I think I printed the pattern from her website last year, but I’m not certain. She may have had it on her blog.

      Good luck,

      Terri

  5. I am in love with your current piece Bargello Symphany. Where can I get a copy of this pattern? It is gorgeous! Can you email me some specifics as to where I might find it?
    Thanks.

  6. I’m not sure where to post this message but I just had to let you know that your step by step blog on the Desiderata is helping me immensely! I thought my eyes were going to bleed trying to see a picture with the magnifying glass to verify if I am working parts of it correctly!

Your corrections and awesome photos have helped me relax and really enjoy working on this gift for my son who is working on his PhD. He has a tattered, printed out copy of the poem tacked to a bulletin board. He will adore this when I am done. I am just beginning but am so excited!

Thank you again and I am really enjoying following all of your projects online when I’m not stitching.

  7. Please do not feel badly about the truth. My parents told me that I was adopted. Their “real” child was the black poodle named duke; I remind this often when they snarl at me saying the Chihuahuas are their “real” grandchildren. The three children my husband and I have are nothing more than the neighbor kids.

  8. Hi Terri-
would you know where I could obtain a copy of the Loretta Spears chart for “Bargello Fantasy” (Mystery #8)- it is so beautiful.

    Kind Regards-
    Graham (Queensland- Australia)

    • Hello Graham,
I’m sorry I’ve not responded sooner, but it’s been a rough year, and my blog suffered terribly for it. Bargello Fantasy is out of print, and finding it for sale on ebay (or elsewhere) is a rare event. I still have my copy, but I promised my sister I’d stitch it for her a few months ago. I haven’t begun stitching it yet. If/when I put it on ebay, I will post the information here. Good luck finding it. It was a delight to stitch.

    • Hi, I still have my copy, but I’ve just committed to re-stitching it for my sister. I can only suggest saving a search on ebay; that’s how I acquired my copy. If/when I put it on ebay myself, I will write a post here on my blog. I’m sorry for taking so long to respond. It’s been a rough year for me, and I’ve sorely neglected my blog.

  9. Hi,

I run the website http://www.crossstitchreview.com/ and I am reviewing the Wee Little Stitches “The Doctors” chart.

I would love to include some comments and photos from stitchers who have this as a WIP or a finished project.

Would you be interested in allowing me to include your New Doctors stitch and send me some small thoughts on the chart and how you feel stitching it?

I hope to hear from you soon?

    Regards
    Mel.
