I got quite a bit done last night while watching The Closer and Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone. Random musing: I wonder if the actors had to film two scenes when referring to the sorcerer’s stone–one when they say, “sorcerer’s” and one when they say, “philosopher’s,” as it is the Philosopher’s Stone for most folks? I’m guessing probably.
I looked at the green leaves with a magnifying glass before I stitched them “closed.” Turns out, in the model, they’re not stitched the way I’ve stitched them, but the veins are stitched over one–there’s a row of veins on each thread row. I like the look of the closed leaf, so I stitched them that way. They’re not feathery looking like before (didn’t care for that), and they are a pleasing look to me.
I also modified the text. In the original model, it is stitched “Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations…” The proper word is “vexatious,” and the new charting reflects that. The original model also says, “…you may become vain and bitter…” The original wording is “…vain or bitter,” which is how I’ve stitched it. The new chart is changed to have it say, “…bitter or vain.” I guess they knew they’d gotten it wrong, but switched it up to still be wrong. After a bit of research, I’m sure my version is the best, most accurate version to use. I’ll have other changes, as well. Watch this space. 😉
